Website Changes

There have been some changes to the paddletastic.com website that require registered users to reset your password, an email should have been received by now, if not then please contact me.

Whats happened and what does it mean?
I have updated the back end of the site away from the original system to a smaller, faster wordpress system.

The main workings of the site has changed, the news and trip reports areas remain but both now have tha ability to ‘tag’ articles. For example all articles mentioning the Wye can be tagged with ‘Wye’, irrespective of news or report.

The forum has gone but was rarely used, there is now a more comprehensive comments system on individual posts that can be used for discussion.

Picture and video hosts are more integrated into the site, with feeds direct from Picasa, Flickr, Youtube and Google video. If you have an account with any of those then let me know. facebook still sucks in this respect and so cannot import images and videos directly.

Users can now add news and trip reports easier than before, as well as adding video and images to the articles. The whole process from your point of view should have become easier.

Still ongoing: The template may change a little, the current one is a quick upload to add a little colour to the new site. I have still to reset names to articles, I may not worry too much about this.

Anything else you can see / think of / come across then let me know.
